Lucy
Originally from Alaska,
Lucy travelled to Louisiana as part of a rescue
mission to assist Hurricane Katrina animal survivors.
. Her hard work earned her the 'Responder of the
Year' award in 2006. Deeply
comitted to helping improve the state of animal
welfare, Lucy (a certified animal therapist) has
remained in Louisiana. When she's not working
to get medical treatment, vaccines, and food for
hundreds of needy animals, she's at the shelter
taking pictures. of animals that are out of time.
Lucy plays a key role in our rescue efforts and
we're blessed to have her as part of our team.
For the past year she has spent much of her time
on the road. She has transported death row animals
thousands of miles across the USA in an attempt
to give them a chance at life.
In May, Lucy was a part of 'Operation Compassion.'
She drove 2800 miles to Vancouver, B.C. with a
load of death row animals. To date, Lucy is responsible
for saving the lives of hundreds of animals. In
order for Lucy to continue this mission of mercy
she needs a newer model cargo van. If you would
like to donate to this cause you would be helping
to save thousands of little lives.
Wendy Wendy
is President of 'The Feral Cat Consortium' She
has been a valued rescue partner since 1atatime
Rescue was formed. Hundreds of animals have
been saved by this extremely comitted rescuer.
Wendy and her husband went into action after
Hurricane Katrina swept through parts of the
southern USA. They swam through contaminated
waters, climbed through rumble, and climbed
onto rooftops in an attempt to save animals
in trouble. Her strong communication skills
have provided a voice for the animals. If you
have a soft heart for the plight of homeless
cats please consider sending in a donation marked:
"Feral Cat Consortium".
30.00 us will spay

GETTING
TO KNOW US
In October
of 2004, a plea for help went out on a public message board
regarding a 6 month old rat terrier on death row in a high-kill
gassing facility in the Southern USA. Attempts to advocate
for the pup that had less than 24 hours left to live, failed.
His picture no longer appeared on the website and it could
not be found on the Happy Tales list. After checking the site
daily for a month, sending emails to local rescuers and making
several phone calls to officials, we were told that our little
friend had most likely been gassed. During our search for
him we saw hundreds of highly adoptable animals on death row.
1atatime Rescue was formed In Memory of the nameless little
boy who lost his life far too early.
Every day across North America thousands of highly adoptable
animals die needlessly. Many of these animals die by antiquated
means such as gassing. We are comitted to helping death row
animals have a chance at life. It is our hope that by bringing
attention to the plight of shelter animals, that those people
looking to bring an animal into their family might consider
adoption instead of purchasing one from a backyard breeder
or pet store. Our prime focus is on small/medium sized dogs
as these are the ones in greatest demand. In turn this demand
is what feeds the lucrative puppy mill industry. Our rescue
efforts also include cats and at times, other small animals
in life and death situations.

1ATATIME RESCUE
WITHOUT BORDERS
We believe that all lives have value regardless of their
location and as such we are a rescue 'without borders.'
In two years of being in operation, 1atatime has found homes
for over 200 death row animals (dogs and cats). The majority
of these animals were rescued from over-crowded high-kill
facilities in Louisiana where the affects of Hurricane Katrina
are still wreaking havoc. That area had serious over-population
and animal welfare issues before the disaster hit. We are
comitted to continuing our rescue efforts in the southern
USA as our rescue partners are extremely over-taxed due
to the overwhelming number of animals needing assistance.
